Shooting in Boston leads to pursuit and arrest of teenager

Boston, MA – A shooting incident occurred on Wednesday, November 19, as officers responded to a shot spotter activation in Dorchester. Ballistic evidence was found at the scene along with damage to a motor vehicle.

Witnesses reported two suspects fleeing the scene on a scooter. The scooter was later observed traveling recklessly, with the operator and passenger not wearing helmets.

While attempting to evade officers, the scooter lost control and collided with a police cruiser. The suspects then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

One officer observed a suspect discard a firearm near Waldeck Street. Although a foot pursuit ensued, both suspects managed to escape, but the police were able to recover the firearm, a 9mm semi-automatic handgun.

District Detectives processed the firearm, which was reported to have no serial number, and towed the abandoned scooter.

Later, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force discovered discarded clothing linked to one of the suspects on Larchmont Street.

A 17-year-old male suspect was apprehended on Dakota Street and charged with multiple offenses including possession of a firearm without an FID card and resisting arrest.

Efforts to locate the second suspect were unsuccessful. The original shooting incident did not result in any reported injuries.
