Shots Fire in Salisbury, No Victims Located

SALISBURY, MD – Maryland State Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred early Saturday morning in Wicomico County. There are no reported victims or injuries at this time.

The incident began at 2:00 AM when state troopers from the Criminal Enforcement Division – Eastern Region were called to assist Salisbury Barrack troopers following reports of shots fired. The area around Cherry Beach Park in Sharptown was the focus of the emergency response.

A 911 call to the Salisbury Barrack initially reported the gunfire. Troopers and Maryland State Police crime scene technicians were dispatched to the scene to search for victims and gather evidence.

Authorities are calling for witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact Maryland State Police at the Salisbury Barrack at 410-749-3101. Callers may choose to remain anonymous.

The ongoing investigation is receiving additional support from the Maryland State Police Crash Team and officers from the Laurel Police Department in Delaware.
