A $1 Power Play doubled the ticket’s prize to $100K
HYATTSVILLE, MD — A Powerball ticket sold at a Hyattsville Giant Food delivered a $100,000 payday in Monday night’s drawing after a $1 Power Play purchase doubled what would have been a $50,000 prize, according to the Maryland Lottery.
The ticket was sold at Giant Food at 5815 Eastern Avenue in Hyattsville.
Monday night’s winning numbers were 3, 16, 33, 38 and 68, with Powerball 2.
The Hyattsville ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball, securing a third-tier Powerball prize.
That combination normally pays $50,000, but the ticket included the Power Play option.
Monday’s Power Play multiplier was 2X, doubling the prize to $100,000.
The Maryland Lottery reported Tuesday that the $100,000 prize had not been claimed.
The six-figure ticket was the largest among 8,052 winning Powerball tickets sold in Maryland for Monday’s drawing. Other winning tickets carried prizes ranging from $4 to $100.
Maryland Lottery winners have 182 days from the drawing date to claim draw-game prizes.
No ticket won Monday’s Powerball jackpot. Wednesday’s drawing carries an estimated $96 million annuity jackpot with an estimated $41.2 million cash option.
Powerball drawings are held at 10:59 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
