Six Point Document Check Sends Man into Fit of Rage Breaking Window at Lakewood MVC

Lakewood, NJ – The Lakewood Police Department charged a 57-year-old man from Asbury Park with criminal mischief after he allegedly broke a glass entrance door at the state Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) office on Route 70 Friday morning.

Officers responded to the MVC around 10:45 a.m. for a report of property damage. Police said Mingo Kersey Jr. became agitated after being denied vehicle registration because of improper documentation. As he left the facility, Kersey reportedly struck the entrance door, shattering the glass.

The cost of the damage was estimated at approximately $1,500.
