WALTON COUNTY, FL — A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a juvenile multiple times at a party in Freeport, while his mother faces charges for tampering with evidence, authorities said.

The Walton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call just before 10 p.m. Saturday from the victim’s friends, who were taking them to the hospital. Deputies met the group at Grady Brown Park, where Walton County Fire Rescue transported the victim for treatment of stab wounds to the head and neck.

Investigators determined the attack took place at a residence on Portland Park Road. Witnesses and video evidence identified John Byron Kingkade, 21, as the suspect, deputies said. He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse. He remains in custody on a $500,000 bond.

Kingkade’s mother, Krystal Rabon Kingkade, 41, was also arrested after investigators say she instructed witnesses to delete cellphone footage of the incident. She was charged with tampering with evidence and was released Sunday on a $15,000 bond.
