Stafford Township swears in new police officer

STAFFORD TOWNSHIP, N.J. — The Stafford Township Police Department welcomed Nicholas Fabrizzio to its ranks this week, officially swearing him in as a full-time patrolman.

Fabrizzio, 22, is a lifelong resident of Stafford Township and graduated from Southern Regional High School in 2021. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Management – General Business from Kean University this year.

His law enforcement career began in 2022 as a Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer (SLEO) with the Long Beach Township Police Department. In 2023, he earned his Class II certification from the Ocean County Police Academy and joined Stafford Township Police as a part-time officer later that year.

He became a full-time Class II SLEO in April 2024. During his tenure, Fabrizzio received multiple commendations from community members, consistently high performance evaluations, and a Command Citation at the department’s annual awards ceremony.

Recognized for fitness and community involvement

Known for his commitment to physical fitness, Fabrizzio was awarded the Physical Fitness Award at the academy and set a new record in the squat thrust exercise. He is also a three-time winner of the Stafford Township Bunny Hop 5K and contributed to Stafford PD’s winning team at the 2023 Military & Law Enforcement Fitness Challenge.

The department acknowledged Fabrizzio’s positive impact within the agency and broader community, stating he is “family-oriented, humble, and well respected.”

Nicholas Fabrizzio begins his new role as patrolman after years of service and preparation in local law enforcement.
