Two suspects wanted after violent robbery at Clinton-Washington Avenues station

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A routine subway trip turned violent when two suspects allegedly pulled a gun, repeatedly struck a man in the head, and stole his cellphone on a Brooklyn station platform before fleeing, according to the NYPD.

The New York Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying two individuals wanted in connection with a robbery that occurred on Tuesday, May 19.

According to investigators, the attack happened at approximately 5 p.m. on the northbound platform of the Clinton-Washington Avenues subway station.

Police said a 35-year-old man was standing on the platform when he was approached by two unidentified suspects.

The suspects allegedly displayed a firearm and began striking the victim in the head multiple times with the weapon.

After assaulting the victim, the suspects forcibly took his cellphone, according to police.

The pair then fled the station on foot, heading eastbound on Fulton Street.

The NYPD did not release information regarding the extent of the victim’s injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
