Suspect Arrested in Fatal Shooting on Hawthorne Street

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on August 31, 2024, in the 6900 block of Hawthorne Street, police said.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 7:40 p.m. and found the victim, identified as Stone, suffering from gunshot wounds in a parking lot. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died.

According to the preliminary investigation, the suspect, identified as Fox, shot the victim during a dispute. On Tuesday, the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Fugitive Unit, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, located Fox in Washington, D.C. He was arrested and is currently being held without bond while awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.

Fox faces charges of first- and second-degree murder, along with other related charges.
