Suspect who shot teen in Chicago arrested by police less than an hour later

CHICAGO, IL – Chicago police have charged 23-year-old Alexander Flores with aggravated battery and attempted murder after he allegedly shot and injured a 17-year-old male in the 1600 block of W. 47th St.

The incident occurred on May 1, and Flores was arrested less than 40 minutes later in the 1600 block of W. 47th St.

Flores was charged with one felony count of aggravated battery/discharge of a firearm and one felony count of attempted first-degree murder.

Flores, who lives in the 4400 block of S. Whipple, is set to appear in Central Bond Court at 2600 S. California on May 4, 2023.
