Egg Harbor Township Police Launch Crackdown on Impaired Driving
**Egg Harbor Township, NJ** – The Egg Harbor Township Police Department is set to initiate roving patrols during the holiday season to enforce laws against driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. From Friday, December 6, lasting through January 1, officers will be on duty to identify and apprehend reckless, careless, and impaired drivers.
The department plans to enhance enforcement through saturation patrols in targeted areas within the township. These patrols aim to arrest drivers operating under the influence and reduce reckless driving.
This year, Egg Harbor Township Police have responded to 1,900 reported crashes. They have made 123 DWI arrests, dealt with 40 crashes involving impaired drivers, and attended 10 fatal crashes resulting in 11 deaths.
The police department urges everyone to ensure their holiday activities do not lead to impaired driving. Residents are reminded to plan for a safe and sober ride home if their celebrations involve alcohol or other impairing substances.

Maryland State Police Target Unlawful Car Takeovers
**Baltimore, MD** – Maryland State Troopers assigned to the Maryland Car Rally Task Force will conduct patrols this weekend. The operation aims to curtail unlawful large-scale exhibition driving events in the Maryland National Capital and Baltimore regions.
These events, often referred to as “takeovers,” obstruct public roads. They pose risks to public safety, disrupt traffic, and frequently lead to property damage.
The effort involves cooperation among multiple law enforcement agencies. Participating agencies include the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Howard, Montgomery, Prince George’s Counties, and Baltimore City police departments.
The Maryland Department of State Police seeks to reduce the impact of these hazardous events on public safety and the communities served.
