KITZMILLER, Md.—Deputy State Fire Marshals and K9 Blondie are assisting the Garrett County Sheriff’s Office in investigating a reported homicide and arson in Kitzmiller, Maryland. The Garrett County Sheriff’s Office, the lead agency on the case, has requested media inquiries be directed to them.

Authorities have identified Nikolas Patrick James, 46, as a person of interest. James may be driving a white 2023 Chrysler Pacifica with Maryland registration 4GJ-9172.
