Teen Arrested for Gun and Drugs After Traffic Stop in Camden Wyoming

Camden Wyoming, DE – The Delaware State Police arrested a 17-year-old male from Dover for multiple gun and drug offenses following a traffic stop on Friday morning.

On June 28, at approximately 9:51 AM, a trooper patrolling South State Street near Troop 3 noticed the driver of a black 2007 Lincoln Navigator was not wearing a seatbelt. The trooper conducted a traffic stop and found that the 17-year-old driver did not have a valid driver’s license. During the stop, the trooper discovered approximately 1 gram of marijuana wax on the driver.

A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle revealed a loaded Derringer handgun and several rounds of .25 caliber ammunition. The gun was found to have been reported stolen in Ohio. The driver was taken into custody without incident.

The 17-year-old was transported to Troop 3, charged with multiple offenses, and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 7. He was committed to Vision Quest Detention Center on a $16,202 secured bond.
