Teen fatally shot in Southwest D.C. apartment

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 19-year-old man was found dead Wednesday evening inside a Southwest D.C. apartment, prompting a homicide investigation by local authorities.

The shooting was reported around 6:31 p.m. in the 200 block of I Street, where officers arrived to discover Nadir McCoy, of Northwest D.C., unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds inside an apartment unit.

D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and determined McCoy showed no signs of life. He was pronounced dead at the location.

Police have not yet identified any suspects or motives in connection with the fatal shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for tips leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the crime.
