Teen injured in knife assault during juvenile altercation at Maryvale Park in Rockville

ROCKVILLE, Md. — A 15-year-old boy was injured Tuesday evening after being assaulted with an edged weapon during a dispute among juveniles at Maryvale Park, police said.

Rockville City Police responded shortly after 7:00 p.m. to the 800 block of First Street following reports of a verbal altercation involving a group of male juveniles. During the confrontation, one individual produced a weapon and attacked the victim.

The teen sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police have not released information about the type of weapon used or the identity of the assailant.

Authorities said the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. No arrests have been announced, and the investigation is ongoing.
