Tennessee Man Sentenced in Drug Trafficking Case

Memphis, TN – A Tennessee resident was sentenced on Tuesday to over seven years in prison for his involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy in the Memphis area.

Courtney Davis, 28, from Memphis, collaborated with others, including Brian Lackland, to distribute fentanyl and methamphetamine. The investigation focused on the Young Mob gang and their role in drug trafficking.

In March, law enforcement began wiretapping Davis, capturing discussions of acquiring and distributing fentanyl pills. Davis was implicated in distributing 90 grams of fentanyl and 1360 grams of methamphetamine.

Davis is one of 18 individuals charged in this case and the first to be sentenced, having pleaded guilty in December. The Justice Department and local law enforcement have conducted the investigation and prosecution as part of a broader initiative to combat violent crime in Memphis.
