Thief snatches woman’s phone on East 149th Street, police say

BRONX, NY – The NYPD is searching for a suspect who allegedly grabbed a woman’s cell phone right out of her hand during an evening street theft in the South Bronx, authorities said.

According to police, the grand larceny occurred around 8:30 p.m. on December 11 outside 538 East 149th Street, within the 40th Precinct. Investigators said a 40-year-old woman was standing on the sidewalk when an unidentified individual suddenly snatched her phone and ran off.

The suspect fled eastbound on East 149th Street and has not been located. No injuries were reported during the incident.
