BRONX, NY – Police are searching for a suspect who assaulted and robbed a man during an early-morning attack inside a Bronx subway station last week, the NYPD announced.
The violent robbery happened around 4:45 a.m. on February 5 in the mezzanine area of the Kingsbridge Road station, located within the 52nd Precinct and Transit District 11.
Investigators said a 59-year-old man was approached by an unidentified individual who struck him in the face with a glass bottle, then forcibly took his wallet containing about $100. The suspect fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
The victim sustained facial injuries from the attack but is expected to recover.
