BROOKLYN, NY – An 85-year-old woman had her purse snatched in broad daylight Friday afternoon after setting it down on a counter inside a business on Schenectady Avenue, police said.
The theft happened around 12:14 p.m. at a commercial establishment near 243 Schenectady Avenue when an unidentified man approached, grabbed the victim’s purse, and fled west on Saint Johns Place toward an unknown location. Inside the purse were several credit cards and roughly $380 in cash, according to investigators.
The woman was not injured during the incident. The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a dark-colored jacket. Police are continuing to search for the man as the investigation remains ongoing.
