Meet the sweet dog named Kaos who just wants a family
JACKSON, N.J. — A young dog with a tough name but a soft heart is waiting at a local shelter, hoping someone will give him a second chance at a better life.
Kaos, a 2-year-old XL Bully, arrived at the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility after his previous owner could no longer care for him.
Despite his name, shelter staff say Kaos is calm, affectionate and eager to bond with people. However, the shelter environment has been overwhelming for him, and he is still adjusting to the noise and activity.
Those caring for him describe a gentle, sensitive dog who enjoys attention and stays close to his handlers.
Kaos has passed all behavioral assessments, walks well on a leash and does not show signs of resource guarding.
He may do well in a home with a calm dog of similar size but is nervous around smaller animals, including cats. Due to his size, staff recommend a home with older children.
Kaos is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccinations, making him ready for adoption immediately.
Shelter staff say dogs like Kaos often struggle in kennel environments despite having strong potential to thrive in a home.
Anyone interested in adopting or learning more about Kaos can visit the Northern Ocean County Animal Facility at 615 Freemont Avenue in Jackson. The shelter is open daily from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
