Bronx DA announces murder charges in Kingsbridge gunfire that struck three teens

Bronx, NY – Three young men have been indicted in connection with a daytime shooting that left a 16-year-old boy dead and two other teenagers wounded near a busy Bronx intersection, prosecutors announced.

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said Anthony Caballero, 19, Shawn Caballero, 17, and Zion Martinez, 19, are facing multiple charges, including second-degree murder, manslaughter, and attempted murder, stemming from the February shooting in Kingsbridge.

“A promising boy was cut down by a bullet and another boy and a girl were wounded as they ran from gunfire near a busy intersection at 5 p.m.,” Clark said. “This is another heartrending loss of our young people to death, trauma and prison. We must stem the flow of illegal guns.”

Shooting unfolded near busy intersection

According to investigators, the defendants acted together on February 11 at approximately 5:10 p.m. near Broadway and West 238th Street, where they allegedly fired a gun down the street.
