Toms River 12U Softball All-Stars Capture District 18 Championship, Advance to Sectionals

The Toms River 12U Little League Softball All-Stars claimed the New Jersey District 18 title with back-to-back shutout victories over Brick, earning a spot in the sectional tournament.

Toms River, NJ – The Toms River 12U Little League Softball All-Stars are headed to the sectional tournament after sweeping Brick to win the 2026 New Jersey Little League District 18 Championship.

Toms River dominated the championship series, defeating Brick 13-0 in the winners bracket final on Wednesday before sealing the district title with a 19-0 victory in Thursday’s championship game, making a winner-take-all “if necessary” game unnecessary.

Dominant performance secures district title

The championship run was highlighted by strong pitching, timely hitting, and a complete team effort throughout the tournament.

One of the game’s biggest moments came when Briella Bognar blasted a home run, providing a spark for the Toms River offense and helping fuel the team’s championship performance.

Team officials praised the players for their determination throughout the tournament.

“These girls played with heart, grit, and unwavering belief in one another from the first pitch to the final out,” the team said in a celebratory post. “Every player stepped up when it mattered most.”

Eyes now turn to sectionals

With the District 18 championship secured, Toms River now advances to the New Jersey Little League sectional tournament, where the team will continue its pursuit of a state championship.

While celebrating the district title, the team made it clear its season is far from over.

“The celebration is earned, but the mission isn’t over. Sectionals, they’re coming for ya!”
