Alpacino Arrested for Bottle Attack at the Jersey Shore

Alpacino Carrero, 20, of Philadelphia, has been charged after investigators say three adults were injured during a fight in North Wildwood, including one victim who was knocked unconscious after being struck with a bottle.

Cape May Court House, NJ – Alpacino Carrero, 20, of Philadelphia, has been arrested in connection with a violent fight in North Wildwood that left three adults injured, according to the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the North Wildwood Police Department.

A 17-year-old juvenile from West Wildwood was also arrested in the case and faces multiple charges, including robbery and aggravated assault.

Officers responded at approximately 1:05 a.m. June 22 to the area of 13th Avenue and Central Avenue after receiving reports of a fight in progress. When police arrived, they found three injured adult victims who were transported to Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional for treatment.

One victim knocked unconscious

Investigators said one of the victims lost consciousness after being struck with a bottle during the altercation. The suspects had fled the scene before officers arrived.

The investigation was conducted by the North Wildwood Police Department Detective Division in coordination with the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.

Carrero was arrested later that day and charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault and second-degree aggravated assault. He was processed and lodged at the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.

Juvenile faces additional robbery charge

The juvenile suspect was initially charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, second-degree aggravated assault, and third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was detained at a juvenile detention facility.

On June 23, prosecutors filed additional charges against the juvenile, including first-degree robbery and an additional count of second-degree aggravated assault.

Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland said there is no ongoing threat to the public but noted the investigation remains active.
