Toms River hosting kids stand-up paddleboarding camps in July

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Toms River Recreation and Coastline Adventures are offering stand-up paddleboarding camps this summer for kids ages 8 to 16, with sessions scheduled for mid and late July.

The four-day camps, held at Shelter Cove Park, aim to teach children essential water safety and paddleboarding skills while encouraging outdoor activity and social interaction. Each session costs $250 per person and includes all necessary equipment.

Session 1 runs from Monday, July 14 through Thursday, July 17, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Session 2 runs from Monday, July 28 through Thursday, July 31, also from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. Fridays serve as rain dates if needed.

Activities include warm-up stretches, skill-building exercises, board handling and paddling techniques, water safety and self-rescue, nature exploration, and games. Participants must be able to swim and should bring appropriate beachwear, a towel, sunscreen, a drink, and a snack.

The camp will meet in the beach parking lot of Shelter Cove Park, located at 1390 Bay Avenue, Toms River, NJ 08753.
