Toms River JROTC drill team closes season with top honors at Central Regional competition

TOMS RIVER, NJ – The Toms River Regional Schools Junior ROTC Battalion Drill Team ended its season on a high note Saturday, turning in a strong performance at the final competition of the year held at Central Regional High School.

The LET 1 Squads, composed of first-year cadets, captured second place overall after a focused and coordinated showing led by C/PVT Georgette Paye and C/PVT Nikoll Andrade. The team’s precision and discipline impressed judges and earned them a well-deserved trophy.

The Mixed LET-Level Unarmed Squad, under the leadership of C/CPT Gianna Vargas, added to the team’s success with a third-place overall finish after delivering a sharp and unified routine.

Rounding out the day, the Mariner Color Guard—led by Battalion Commander C/LTC Brian Eliezer—performed with confidence and pride, earning a tie for second place overall.

“These results are a testament to the hard work, dedication, and spirit of our cadets,” said JROTC Sergeant James Long, who praised both the students and the support of the district and High School North administration.

Toms River’s JROTC Battalion Drill Team ended its season with multiple top finishes, showcasing teamwork, precision, and pride at Central Regional High School.
