Toms River Road Rage Incident Leads to DWI Arrest

TOMS RIVER, NJ – A road rage incident escalated on Route 9 near the Garden State Parkway (GSP), leading to the arrest of Kyle Tolentino for driving while intoxicated (DWI). The Toms River Police Department responded to the incident after receiving calls about the dispute.

Following dispatch instructions, the involved parties were directed to drive to District One (D1) to resolve the matter. Tolentino, who followed the victim during the incident, also appeared at D1 to report the altercation. Upon arrival, officers conducted Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), which Tolentino failed, indicating significant intoxication.

Further investigations at the station revealed that Tolentino’s blood alcohol content (BAC) was 0.209%, more than twice the legal limit. As a result, he was arrested and charged with DWI. His vehicle was subsequently impounded from the D1 lot.

The incident underscores the dangers of both road rage and impaired driving. The Toms River Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances leading up to the altercation and arrest.
