Top Netflix Exec Donates $7 Million To Kamala Harris

LOS ANGELES, CA — Reed Hastings, co-founder and executive chairman of Netflix, has made a substantial donation to Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 presidential campaign. The $7 million contribution was revealed on Tuesday to the tech-focused site The Information.

“After the depressing debate, we are in the game again,” Hastings told The Information. He noted that this donation is the largest he has ever given to a single candidate.

Earlier this month, Hastings publicly expressed his discontent with President Joe Biden’s performance during the first presidential debate. Following the debate, he told The New York Times, “Biden needs to step aside to allow a vigorous Democratic leader to beat Trump and keep us safe and prosperous.”

Hastings’s significant financial support for Harris signals a shift in his political backing and reflects his desire for new Democratic leadership in the 2024 election.
