BUFFALO, N.Y. – A suspect has been arrested in Canada following a violent carjacking in Buffalo that left a woman assaulted and her vehicle stolen, police announced Saturday.

According to the Buffalo Police Department, the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Friday in a parking lot on Michigan Avenue, where a female victim was forcibly removed from her vehicle by an unidentified male who then fled in her car.

Detectives launched an investigation and quickly identified a suspect. The stolen vehicle was later located in Toronto, Ontario, where police arrested the man after determining he was driving the victim’s car.
