Trinidad killing leads to Maryland arrest

Glen Burnie man arrested in 2025 Trinidad killing of DC father

WASHINGTON, DC – A Maryland man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal shooting last summer in the Trinidad neighborhood of Northeast, authorities announced Thursday.

The arrest stems from a June 2, 2025 shooting in the rear of the 1200 block of Raum Street, NE. Fifth District officers responded at approximately 7:52 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Kalil Jerald Brown of Northeast, D.C.

On Wednesday, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force executed a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant and took 28-year-old Javonte Robinson of Glen Burnie, Maryland, into custody.

Robinson has been charged with First Degree Murder While Armed (Premeditated).

The case remains under review.
