Second victim was discovered miles away at a Park Heights home

BALTIMORE, MD — Two 40-year-old men found wounded hours apart and in different parts of Baltimore were actually shot on the same block of Laurens Street, police say, tying the seemingly separate discoveries to one location as detectives investigate what happened.

The first victim was discovered Monday at approximately 10:08 p.m. after Western District patrol officers responded to the area of Pennsylvania Avenue and Laurens Street for a reported shooting.

Officers found the 40-year-old man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Baltimore Police did not provide his condition in the release.

Hours later, officers were called to another shooting victim at a home in the 3600 block of Park Heights Avenue.

Police arrived at approximately 4:23 a.m. Tuesday and found a second 40-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Medics transported him to an area hospital with an injury described as non-life-threatening.

Although the second man was found on Park Heights Avenue, investigators determined he had not been shot there.

A preliminary investigation found that both men were shot in the 700 block of Laurens Street, according to Baltimore Police.

The department did not say whether the men were wounded during the same shooting or explain how the second victim traveled from Laurens Street to the Park Heights Avenue home.

Police also did not release information about a suspect or what may have led to the gunfire.

Western District detectives are investigating and asking anyone with information to call 410-396-2477.
