Two arrested, one charged in July 4 shooting investigation at North Beach pub

NORTH BEACH, Md. — Detectives from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two men and charged a third in connection with a shooting that occurred outside Neptune’s Seafood Pub early on July 4.

Deputies responded around 12:30 a.m. to the bar located at 8802 Chesapeake Ave. for reports of gunfire. No injuries were reported at the scene.

Following an investigation, authorities arrested Rayquan Malik Jackson, 27, of Falls Church, Va., and Devon Patrick Hunter, 24, of Friendship, Md. Both men are being held without bond at the Calvert County Detention Center.

Charges against the pair include attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, illegal possession of a firearm, second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment.

A third individual, Jeremiah Jermaine Nick, 19, of Shady Side, Md., was identified for allegedly tampering with evidence to hinder the investigation. A criminal summons has been issued for Nick.

The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office is requesting assistance from the public and is urging anyone with information or who was present at the time of the incident to come forward.
