November 13, 2024

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects linked to a series of violent robberies in Manhattan’s subway system over the past month. The incidents, which have involved assaults and thefts targeting older male victims, took place across multiple subway stations, including the Bleecker Street, Times Square, and Fulton Street stations.

The first reported robbery occurred on October 10 around 5:00 a.m. inside the Bleecker Street subway station. Police say a 60-year-old man was sitting on a bench on the southbound platform of the “6” train when two men approached him. The suspects reportedly punched and kicked the victim in the head and face before taking approximately $65 from his pocket. The attackers then fled on a southbound train. The victim sustained a forehead laceration and was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue for treatment.

Nearly a month later, on November 7, the suspects struck again, this time at the 42nd Street-Times Square subway station. According to the police, the incident occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. when a 58-year-old man was walking on the mezzanine level. The two suspects reportedly approached the victim, shoved him to the ground, and punched him before taking his cellphone and wallet. The attackers then fled on foot. The victim declined medical assistance at the scene.

Later that same morning, at around 4:30 a.m., a third robbery took place on a southbound “2” train approaching the Fulton Street station. Police say a 56-year-old man was assaulted by two men who punched him in the face and took his cellphone and approximately $80 in cash. The suspects fled out of the station after the attack. The victim, who sustained pain and swelling, was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue for treatment.
