Two Juveniles Arrested After Riding Dirt Bike Inside Myrtle Beach Mall

Police say two juveniles were taken into custody after a dirt bike was driven through Coastal Grand Mall and crashed into a kiosk.

Two juveniles were arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly riding a dirt bike inside Coastal Grand Mall in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, according to the Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Officers responded to the shopping center at approximately 10:54 a.m. following reports that a dirt bike was being operated inside the mall.

When officers arrived, they learned the dirt bike had collided with a kiosk while traveling through the building.

Police said the two juveniles riding the dirt bike attempted to flee after the crash but were quickly apprehended by responding officers.

Crash Inside Shopping Center

Authorities did not release details on how the dirt bike entered the mall or how long it was being operated inside the shopping center before the collision occurred.

The impact damaged a kiosk inside the mall, though police did not provide information regarding the extent of the damage.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Juveniles Taken Into Custody

The Myrtle Beach Police Department said both juveniles were taken into custody at the scene shortly after attempting to run from officers.

Officials have not released the identities of the juveniles due to their ages.

Police also have not announced what charges, if any, the juveniles may face.

The incident briefly drew attention from shoppers and employees inside the busy retail complex, one of the largest shopping destinations along South Carolina’s Grand Strand.
