Two lucky tickets split Ohio Lottery jackpot in Lorain County

A Lorain woman and an Elyria man each claimed half of a Rolling Cash 5 jackpot after matching all five winning numbers in the same drawing.

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Two Northeast Ohio lottery players beat long odds in the same drawing, splitting a Rolling Cash 5 jackpot after each matched all five winning numbers to claim an equal share of the prize.

The winning numbers in the June 20 Rolling Cash 5 drawing were 7-11-21-26-29.

Because there were two jackpot-winning tickets, the $110,000 jackpot was divided equally, with each winner receiving $55,000 before taxes.

Linda, of Lorain, told the Ohio Lottery she always plays the same set of numbers and was watching Cash Explosion when the winning numbers were announced.

She realized she had matched four of the five numbers but missed the final number during the broadcast. After checking the results later that evening, she discovered she had matched all five numbers.

The most she had previously won was $300 playing KENO. She said she plans to share part of her winnings with her children and continue spoiling her grandchildren.

Her winning ticket was purchased at Raceway Pure Gas, located at 3040 Oberlin Ave. in Lorain.

The second jackpot winner, a man from Elyria, said he didn’t know he had won until his son called with the news because he had left the ticket at home.

The Ohio Lottery said the Elyria resident had recently won $500 playing the Ultimate $5,000,000 scratch-off game, but described the Rolling Cash 5 jackpot as his biggest win to date.

He plans to share his winnings with his son and family.

His winning ticket was sold at Giant Eagle #220, located at 2201 Kresge Drive in Amherst.

According to the Ohio Lottery, the odds of matching all five Rolling Cash 5 numbers are 1 in 575,757.

Rolling Cash 5 drawings are held daily at approximately 7:05 p.m., with jackpots starting at $100,000 and growing until won.
