Monessen police charge man, woman in 2025 Leeds Avenue shooting that led to standoff
Monessen, PA – Two additional suspects have been charged in connection with a 2025 shooting on a residential street that escalated into a hours-long police standoff, authorities announced. The case centers on a confrontation tied to a child custody dispute that turned violent.
Monessen Police said Brendon Redden and Kaytin Ward are now facing multiple felony charges related to the March 2025 shooting on Leeds Avenue. Both are charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, receiving stolen property, terroristic threats, and carrying a firearm without a license.
The incident previously led to the arrest of a third suspect, Jay Din Eleam of Brownsville, who was taken into custody following a five-hour standoff with Monessen Police and assisting agencies.
Shooting followed custody dispute, police say
According to investigators, Redden and Ward went to a residence on Leeds Avenue where Eleam was staying to discuss a child custody matter. Police said the encounter escalated, resulting in an exchange of gunfire between the individuals involved.
