Washington, D.C. – A collaborative investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s First District and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Violent Crimes Task Force has led to the arrest of two more individuals linked to a series of armed business robberies in Northwest, Washington, D.C.
The arrests come in the wake of an incident on February 11th involving 24-year-old Kamanye Williams of Northwest, D.C. Williams was apprehended after being shot by a Special Police Officer during an attempted armed robbery in the 800 block of 7th Street NW. During this confrontation, Williams had disarmed a Special Police Officer and was actively robbing the business when another officer shot him on the scene. Two firearms were seized at the time of his arrest, and Williams now faces multiple charges, including Armed Robbery and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
The investigation revealed that Williams was also responsible for several other armed robberies at the same location, dating back to July 18, 2023. In each instance, Williams exploited a secure door being opened, brandished a firearm at employees, and demanded money from the safe before fleeing the scene.
Further investigative efforts by the MPD and FBI identified additional culprits involved in these crimes. Yesterday, Michael Robinson, 33, of Capitol Heights, MD, and Gianni Robinson, 26, of Northwest, D.C., were apprehended under United States District Court arrest warrants. Both are charged with Conspiracy to Interfere with Interstate Commerce by Robbery, marking a significant advancement in the resolution of these violent crimes.
