BRONX, NY – A 55-year-old man was assaulted and robbed Tuesday evening in front of 48 Westchester Square, where police say two unidentified individuals targeted the victim in a sudden and violent street attack.
According to investigators from the NYPD, the incident happened around 7:50 p.m. when one suspect approached the man from behind and forcibly snatched his cell phone from his hand. The force of the robbery caused the victim to fall to the ground, where a second suspect kicked him in the face before both fled the area on foot.
The victim sustained minor injuries and did not require hospitalization, authorities said. Detectives from the 45th Precinct are now searching for the two suspects, who remain at large.
