Four dogs need help as urgent rescue plea intensifies in Ocean County
Jackson, NJ — A growing sense of urgency is surrounding four dogs at a New Jersey shelter.
The Northern Ocean County Animal Facility is seeking immediate help for four dogs — Greg, Daisy, North, and Betty — all of whom now require placement through a registered 501(c)(3) rescue or foster program.

Greg, a 5-year-old poodle-bichon mix, is described as dog-friendly but sensitive to touch and in need of a patient environment. Daisy, a 3-year-old lab mix, has spent more than a year in the shelter and requires a quiet home where she is the only pet.

North, a bulldog mix of similar age, has passed all behavioral assessments but must also be placed as the only pet in a household. Betty, a 1-year-old pit bull mix, recently added to the rescue-only list, is described as overwhelmed in the shelter setting despite passing evaluations.
Shelter officials say all four dogs have been assessed and are considered adoptable under the right conditions but require specific placements that the facility cannot provide.

With space and resources limited, the shelter is calling on rescue organizations or approved foster homes to step forward.
