Urgent search underway for missing 16-year-old girl in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 16-year-old girl vanished from Southeast D.C. and officials are asking for the public’s help in finding her.

Layla McKnight was last seen on January 25 at 9:45 am at the 4300 block of C Street SE. She is described by police as a Black female, 5’9” tall, weighing 165 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. Her clothing description is unknown.

The case was reported on January 30 and is being investigated by the Youth and Family Engagement Division. Anyone with information is urged to call (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411.

The search for McKnight continues as authorities work to bring her home safely.
