Virginia Beach police investigating fatal crash involving bicyclist on Holland Road

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A bicyclist was killed in a crash involving a vehicle Wednesday night at the intersection of Holland Road and Lynnhaven Parkway, according to the Virginia Beach Police Department (VBPD).

Officers responded to the scene around 10:25 p.m. and found that the bicyclist, identified as Freddie Morales, 43, of Virginia Beach, had been struck by a vehicle. Morales was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and sustained minor injuries, police said. No charges have been filed at this time.

The VBPD Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the incident. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Traffic Safety Unit or Crime Solvers.
