RICHMOND, Va. — A Virginia Beach man is celebrating a $480,816 online lottery jackpot after hitting the top prize while playing the Virginia Lottery’s Bucks Triple Play game.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous as permitted under Virginia law, said he was overwhelmed when he realized he had won.

The winning jackpot came from Bucks Triple Play, one of the Virginia Lottery’s online instant games available through the Lottery’s website and mobile app.
Virginia law allows lottery winners to remain anonymous, and the Lottery did not release the winner’s identity.
In addition to online instant games, eligible Virginia players can also purchase Powerball, Mega Millions, Millionaire for Life, Pick 3, Pick 4, Pick 5 and Cash 5 with EZ Match tickets online.
The Virginia Lottery said all profits support K-12 public education across the Commonwealth. Virginia Beach received more than $40.7 million in Lottery funding for K-12 education during the last fiscal year.
In Fiscal Year 2025, the Virginia Lottery generated more than $901 million for K-12 education, accounting for approximately 10% of the state’s K-12 school budget.
