Virginia State Police investigating deadly hit and run on I 264 in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, VA – The Virginia State Police have launched an investigation into a fatal hit-and-run that occurred early Saturday morning on Interstate 264 in the City of Chesapeake. Authorities said they were notified around 7:35 a.m. of a pedestrian lying on the left shoulder of the ramp connecting I-264 westbound to I-664 northbound.

Troopers arrived to find a 39-year-old man deceased at the scene with injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle. The victim’s name has not yet been released pending notification of family members.

Investigators are working to identify the vehicle and driver involved in the incident and are asking for the public’s help in gathering information.
