Wall Township Police Log 13 Arrests in One Week, Including 5 DWI Charges Across Major Highways

Wall Township, NJ — Thirteen people were arrested in Wall Township between Monday, April 20 and Sunday, April 26, with impaired driving cases and warrant arrests making up the bulk of police activity. The Wall Township Police Department reported five driving while intoxicated (DWI) charges during the week, many tied to late-night traffic stops on major roadways including Routes 34, 35, 70, and Interstate 195.

The arrests reflect a steady pace of enforcement across the township, with multiple incidents unfolding during routine patrols and coordinated warrant pickups involving other agencies.

DWI arrests cluster along major corridors

Five drivers were charged with DWI over the seven-day period, according to the Wall Township Police Department. Arrests occurred on State Highway 35, Highway 71, Highway 34, Sea Girt Avenue, and Interstate 195—roads that carry heavy local and commuter traffic.

On Tuesday afternoon, April 21, Patrolman Kevin Orender arrested Jeffrey Briggs, 59, of Westfield, following an investigation on Route 35 at 3:39 p.m. Later that night, Patrolman Alexandra Clayton stopped Bonifacio Vasquez, 38, of Neptune, on Route 71, charging him with DWI and an outstanding East Brunswick warrant.

Additional DWI arrests followed throughout the week, including Dhruv Patel, 35, on Wednesday night along Route 34, and John DePalma, 62, just after midnight Friday on Sea Girt Avenue. The final DWI arrest came Sunday night, when Patrolman Vincent Colucci charged Asia Foster, 35, of Neptune, after a stop on Interstate 195 at 10:47 p.m.

All five individuals were processed and released under New Jersey’s John’s Law, which governs the release of suspected intoxicated drivers.

Warrant arrests span multiple counties

Beyond impaired driving, officers carried out several warrant arrests involving individuals already in custody or located through coordination with other police departments.

Key Points
• Wall Township police made 13 arrests between April 20 and April 26
• Five drivers face DWI charges following stops on major highways
• Multiple suspects arrested on outstanding warrants across different jurisdictions

Patrolman Tyler Russell arrested Kevin Spracklen, 43, of Wall, on Monday at the Jackson Police Department on a local warrant. That same day, Patrolman John Kelly took Leyddy Medina Hernandez De Bances, 36, of Lakewood, into custody at the Ocean County Correctional Institution.

Similar arrests continued throughout the week. Officers transported several individuals, including Sean Ijames, 40, of Trenton, and Daveion Davis, 27, of Camden, to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution after executing warrants tied to Wall Township.

Other warrant-related arrests involved cooperation with Howell Township, Lakewood, Newark, and Brick Township authorities, underscoring the regional nature of routine law enforcement activity.

Drug charge and retail theft add to weekly total

While most arrests stemmed from traffic stops or warrants, two incidents highlighted other enforcement areas.

On Friday, April 24, Patrolman Clint Forgach arrested Dorothea Shields, 61, of Whiting, after a motor vehicle stop on Shafto Road. Shields faces charges for possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a summons.

That same day, Patrolman Tyler Russell charged Mark Alfieri, 56, of Wall, with shoplifting from a Target store. He was also released on a summons pending court proceedings.

Routine stops drive most enforcement activity

A consistent theme across the week: nearly every arrest began with a motor vehicle stop or inter-agency coordination. Even more serious charges, including drug possession and hindering, stemmed from routine traffic enforcement.

For example, Javier Herrerasanchez, 21, of Brick, was arrested Thursday on a Brick Township warrant and charged with hindering following a stop on Route 70. He was later released on his own recognizance.

Similarly, Keisha Rowland, 46, of East Orange, was arrested the same day on outstanding traffic warrants from Lakewood and Newark before being released after both jurisdictions cleared her.

Ongoing enforcement and legal status

The Wall Township Police Department continues regular patrols and coordinated enforcement efforts across the township and surrounding areas. The weekly arrest log reflects standard policing activity rather than any single large-scale incident.

All individuals listed in the blotter are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
