Hola! Soy Mikie!
Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill released a video message in Spanish on X Friday, appealing directly to Hispanic residents as part of her transition to governor of New Jersey.
The post, aimed at encouraging participation in her statewide listening tour, was accompanied by a link to a public survey hosted on a campaign-affiliated site.
In the video, Sherrill tells viewers that her goal as governor would be to “make life easier and less expensive for the people of New Jersey,” while emphasizing that she wants to hear directly from residents about what matters most to them. “For me, it’s very important to know what are the things that are important to you,” she says. “I want to be a governor who is always listening and working on the things that are going to make life easier for the people of New Jersey.”
Sherrill closes by directing viewers to fill out a public survey through the state’s official site, saying her campaign has already received thousands of responses. “I want to hear from you,” she says, addressing New Jersey’s large and diverse Spanish-speaking population, which now represents more than 20 percent of the state’s residents.
For me, it’s very important to know what the things are that matter to you. I want to be a governor who is always listening and working on the issues that are going to make life easier for the people of New Jersey. I’ve always chosen to be that type of leader because the best ideas come directly from the people in our communities. But for that, I need your help. Is there something that is worrying you? Tell me. Because my mission as your next governor is to make life easier and less expensive in New Jersey. Go to nj.gov/govelect and fill out the public survey. We’ve already received responses from thousands of people here in the Garden State, and I want to hear from you.
