A 25-year-old Wildwood man was flown to a trauma center after his electric bicycle struck a legally parked vehicle Wednesday night in Wildwood Crest.

Wildwood Crest, NJ – A 25-year-old Wildwood resident was seriously injured after crashing an electric bicycle into a parked vehicle Wednesday night in Wildwood Crest, police said.

According to the Wildwood Crest Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, to the area of Topeka Avenue and Pacific Avenue for a reported crash involving an e-bike.

The preliminary investigation determined the rider was traveling northbound on Pacific Avenue when the electric bicycle struck a legally parked vehicle.

Rider airlifted to trauma center

Due to the severity of his injuries, the rider was transported from the scene to a nearby trauma center by medical helicopter.

Police said the 25-year-old man was listed in stable condition following the crash.

Investigation concluded

The Wildwood Crest Police Department did not release the rider’s identity and said no additional information would be provided.

The circumstances surrounding the crash were not immediately disclosed.
