Police are searching for a man after a 22-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted after accepting a ride from a stranger in the Woodbridge area of Prince William County.
Police are investigating after a 22-year-old woman reported she was sexually assaulted by a man who offered her a ride in the Woodbridge area earlier this week.
According to investigators, officers responded on June 24 to investigate an assault that was reported to have occurred on June 22 at approximately 1:30 p.m.
The incident was reported in the area of Thenia Place in Woodbridge, and the investigation determined the encounter began in the 13300 block of Occoquan Road.
Victim says stranger offered her a ride
Police said the woman was walking along Occoquan Road when she was approached by an unknown man who offered her a ride.
According to investigators, during the drive the suspect parked the vehicle in an unfamiliar location, where the victim reported she was sexually assaulted.
Police said the suspect later allowed the woman to leave the vehicle.
No injuries were reported.
Police seeking suspect
Investigators described the suspect as a Hispanic man between 50 and 53 years old with short dark hair.
He was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and blue jeans and was driving a gray four-door sedan.
The investigation remains active, and police are asking anyone with information about the incident or the suspect to contact investigators.
