Woman sought after pepper spray attack on 70 year old man aboard Bronx subway

BRONX, N.Y. – A confrontation aboard a northbound 5 train turned violent Wednesday afternoon when a rider pepper-sprayed a 70-year-old man in the face during an argument, police said. The incident happened around 2:48 p.m. as the train arrived at the East 180th Street subway station.

Investigators said the unidentified woman began arguing with the victim before becoming enraged and discharging pepper spray, striking him in the eyes and face. The suspect then fled the train at the station and ran off in an unknown direction. The victim, who suffered pain and redness, refused medical treatment at the scene.

Police described the suspect as a female with a dark complexion, about 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. She was last seen wearing a navy-blue jacket, a black sweater, blue pants, and a black hat.
