NEW YORK, N.Y. – A woman was found fatally stabbed early Monday morning inside a Harlem apartment, authorities said.
Officers discovered the victim with multiple stab wounds after responding to a 911 call on West 129th Street.
She was taken to Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in critical condition, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

Early-morning attack under investigation
The call came in around 4:25 a.m. from an apartment at 409 West 129th Street, within the 26th Precinct, police said. Responding officers found the woman unresponsive and suffering from numerous stab wounds to her torso and upper body.
Detectives from the NYPD’s homicide unit and crime scene technicians worked through the morning to gather evidence inside the building as neighbors watched from the sidewalk. Police could be seen taping off the area while investigators canvassed for witnesses and surveillance footage.
Victim not yet identified
The identity of the 47-year-old victim is being withheld pending family notification. Police have not disclosed whether the attack appeared targeted or random.
Residents in the building reported being awakened by shouting and commotion shortly before police arrived. One neighbor said officers quickly filled the hallway after the 911 call came in.
Search for suspect continues
As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been made. Investigators were interviewing potential witnesses and reviewing security footage from nearby buildings to determine who may have entered or left the apartment before the attack.
