Woodbury Police Issue Crime Warning Following Increase in Daytime Burglaries

August 8, 2024

WOODBURY, NJ — The Woodbury City Police Department has issued a crime alert in response to a recent spike in daytime residential burglaries in the Delaware Street area and nearby side streets.

The burglaries are occurring during the day when residents are typically away at work. The suspects have been entering homes through unsecured windows or by forcing entry, often by pushing out window air conditioning units.

One male suspect has been apprehended and charged in connection with one of the incidents; however, he has already been released from custody. The police are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area immediately.

The public is also encouraged to watch over their neighbors’ homes and notify the police if anyone suspicious is seen on the property.

In response to the increase in burglaries, the police will be conducting additional patrols in the affected areas.
