Yankees-Phillies Game Postponed Due to COVID-19

PHILADELPHIA, PA – Major League Baseball has postponed tonight’s game between the Yankees and Phillies due to COVID-19 related issues, the league has announced.   The news comes after the Phillies played the Miami Marlins and some members the Marlin’s traveling staff are being quarantined for COVID-19 exposure.  The league is going to conduct tests on Phillies and Marlins players and staff before the games can be resumed.

“Major League Baseball has been coordinating with the Major League Baseball Players Association; the Marlins; the Orioles; the Marlins’ weekend opponent, the Phillies; and Club medical staffs, and will continue to provide updates as appropriate,” the league said.

Marlins CEO Derek Jeter, a former Yankee and Hall of Famer agreed with the league’s decision.  At least three Marlins players tested positive for COVID-19 and the team remains quarantined in Philadelphia.
