Stafford, VA – A 19-year-old man from King George faces multiple felony charges following a high-speed pursuit with deputies just after midnight on Sunday.

Deputy K.W. Suter of the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office was patrolling the area of Kings Highway and Sherwood Forest Farm Road when he noticed a Nissan Sentra traveling at 86 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. When Deputy Suter activated his emergency equipment to initiate a traffic stop, the driver of the Nissan accelerated to speeds exceeding 100 MPH.

The pursuit continued eastbound towards the King George County line. After crossing into King George County, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled over, damaging a nearby power line in the process.

The driver, identified as Tavon Allen, was extracted from the overturned vehicle with minor injuries. Allen was taken into custody and charged with felony eluding, reckless driving, and wearing a mask in public. He is currently being held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
